The federal government is investing in the construction of the community hub La Petite Maison sur Laprairie

Montreal, December 18, 2023 —

A major announcement took place today as La Petite Maison sur Laprairie secured over $5.1 million in government funding. Minister Marc Miller, MP Guillaume Cliche Rivard, along with Mayor Benoit Dorais' team, gathered at the Lorne Center to announce federal and municipal funding for the La Petite Maison project, which will be a crucial pillar in the local community landscape.

The funding, coming from the federal government and the City of Montreal, will propel the construction of a 100% carbon-neutral community space that will house four local organizations, including a women's center, a food security organization, a tenants' rights advocacy group, and a family support organization. La Petite Maison sur Laprairie aims to provide accessible and affordable facilities, creating an inclusive and welcoming living environment.
